Rock Creek Lakes Resort provides an escape from reality.

One of the highest paved roads in California leads the Rock Creek visitor to an alpine setting over 10,000 feet in elevation. Surrounded by John Muir Wilderness with views of 13,000 foot peaks from anywhere in the canyon, this area is about as far as you can get from the city's hustle-bustle. For the angler, hiker, photographer, mountaineer, or nature loving urbanite, Rock Creek is a true gem among the treasures of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The resort has been owned and operated by the King family since 1979. We have continued a tradition of friendly service that has kept visitors coming back year after year for decades. A well-stocked general store, cafe serving breakfast and lunch, cabins, boat rentals, and shower facilities are provided on our premises. Over fifty trout-filled lakes are all within a two hour hike or horseback ride from any of the canyon trailheads. Located across the street from the Resort, Rock Creek Lake offers excellent fishing, boating, camping, and relaxing. You are invited to our wilderness setting to enjoy on its own terms.
